Mission
To build the human capacity necessary to address the current/emerging challenges and uncertainties facing Planet Earth in its four spheres - the lithosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere - and to take advantage of opportunities for the sustainable development and good management of the earth’s natural assets and resources and in their socio-ecological contexts through teaching, action-oriented research, development of innovative technologies, community engagement, and provision of expert advice for practice and policy at local, national, regional and global levels.
