Two Weeks of Orientation for New Students
The University of Nairobi has dedicated two weeks to orienting newly admitted undergraduate and postgraduate students. During the orientation period, students will have an opportunity to:
-
Familiarize themselves with University policies and procedures;
-
Adjust to academic and social life at the University;
-
Meet and interact with senior University officials;
-
Learn about academic facilities, including libraries, lecture theatres, laboratories and bookstores;

Access information on welfare services such as medical care, counselling, accommodation, catering and games;
-
Explore social activities, clubs and societies; and
-
Become familiar with the facilities and services available within their respective Faculties and Campuses.
While the orientation programme will cover the University as a whole, a significant part of the programme will be Faculty-based, enabling students to receive detailed information and guidance relevant to their academic programmes and areas of study.
Registration Requirements and Student Documentation
As part of the registration process, first-year students are required to complete and submit the relevant admission and registration documentation.
The University's registration checklists distinguish between Government Sponsored Students and Self-Sponsored Students and provide the documentation to be completed and verified during registration.

Students are encouraged to carefully review the relevant documents and ensure that all required forms are properly completed before reporting for registration.

To support the incoming students during registration, the University will establish help desks at every Faculty registration point.
