ATTENTION Ph.D. and MCCA CLASS for 2019.

End of semester examination will begin on 13th to 24th  January 2020

Please note that ICCA 608 and ICCA 704 are conducted during the day from 9 am and not from 5.30-8.30pm.

There will be presentations on Thursday, 28th November 2019 from 2:30 pm at the Institute Climate Change and Adaptation Rm 101. 

The following students will be presenting-: 

1. Emily Kajuju Kimathi - Reg No. I58/6965/2017 - Proposal - "Assessing the potential impact of Climate Variability and Change on the distribution of Striga hermonthica in Western Region of Kenya" 

2. Wephukhulu Daniel Wafula - Reg No. I58/82924/2015 - Concept Note - "Examining the Potential Impact of Human Activities, Climate Variability and Change on Kakamega Forest with special focus on Forest Fire hazards"

In 2017 the African Research Universities Association (ARUA) approved the establishment of a Centre of Excellence in Climate and Development (ARUA-CD). The ARUA-CD partners are University of Cape Town (Secretariat and Southern African regional hub), University of Ghana (West African regional hub) and University of Nairobi (East African regional hub).

Since then several engagements have been held in the three ARUA hubs with the latest being The Second Biennial Conference for ARUA to be held in the University of Nairobi from the 18th to 20th November 2019.

The planned conference theme is: AFRICA AND THE FOURTH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION: DEFINING A ROLE FOR RESEARCH UNIVERSITIES
