The launch of the Global Environmental Outlook (GEO) for Business Brief 'Future proofing infrastructure to address the climate biodiversity and pollution crises was held virtually today 7th December 2021
The Global Center on Adaptation, in partnership with the African Development Bank, the African Union and the Africa Adaptation Initiative, shared the key findings of the “State and Trends in Adaptation in Africa Report 2021 – How Adaptation Can Make Africa Safer, Greener and More Prosperous in a Warming World” (STA21) during a virtual event held at the University of Nairobi on Tuesday 26th October 2021 hosted by the Government of Kenya. read more
The 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties, (Cop26) will be held in Glasgow, UK on October 31 2021.
During a breakfast forum meeting held at the Serena Hotel various speakers spoke on the need for massive and radical change to reduce green house emissions which play a big part in global warming.

On Thursday 26th August 2021, two academic staff members from Chuka University and Tharaka University College, namely; Dr Odek Anthony and Dr Ngugi Fidelis came to visit the Department of Earth and Climate Sciences, and specifically, the geology laboratories, as they are in the process of implementing a new geology programme at their university and were desirous to know what kind of laboratory set-up is required to adequately run the programme from the academic year 2022-2023.
The African Climate and Environment Center – Future African Savannas (AFAS) is hosted conjointly at the Université Félix Houphouët-Boigny (UFHB) with its African Centre of Excellence on Climate Change, Biodiversity and Sustainable Agriculture (CEA-CCBAD) in Côte d’Ivoire and the University of Nairobi (UoN) with its Institute for Climate Change and Adaptation (ICCA) (department of earth climate sciences) in Kenya.
